At REN Dermatology, we pride ourselves on helping you achieve your desired lip appearance with natural subtlety. Have you noticed the obvious lip injections of social media a reality TV stars? We can credit Lisa Rinna, Kylie Jenner and The Real Housewives for popularizing an overly plump (and obviously injected!) lip.
The vast majority of people that we treat at REN Dermatology are normal everyday women (and men!), who have noticed increased thinning of the lips, loss of shape, and deflation of volume. Another common complaint we hear all the time is about the small vertical lines/wrinkles around the lips.
We specialize in helping combat these issues. Our patients are women of all ages, with lips of all shapes and sizes–not just the 20-somethings seen on Instagram. We also do not utilize a “one size fits all” approach- we use a variety of fillers to achieve the best look for each person. We customize which filler we use based on the patient’s desired look.
Some of the fillers that I commonly use are Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero. Did you know that there are variations of Juvederm (including Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Volbella) as well as Restylane (Restylane and Restylane SILK). Experienced cosmetic injectors– like we are at REN– will know the subtle differences among the various fillers available and will select the best one for YOU.
I also often advocate injecting small amounts of Botulinum toxin to the edge of the upper and lower lip to help improve those pesky vertical lip lines. These lines aren’t specific to smokers only– we see these all the time! I nearly always use a multi-pronged approach to treating these lines, including Botox injections around the mouth, filler to the actual lip (to help plump them up a little bit first) and then a light filler (like Belotero or Volbella) to the actual lines to soften them.
A comprehensive treatment like this may take 30-45 minutes in the office. We don’t like to rush these treatments as we sculpt your lips!
