When I think of spring, I think of warm days, flowers blooming, spring cleaning and changes — this is a great time to revamp your skincare regimen! We’re about to start showing more skin as we pull out the t-shirts and shorts… it’s time to get your skin glowing!

Exfoliate

Get rid of the dry, dead skin that you’ve accumulated over the winter months! Chemical peels and Dermaplaning are great ways to get your skin glowing again. For the rest of your skin, grab a body scrub or invest in some exfoliating gloves — you can even make your own scrub with sugar and coconut oil to keep in your shower.

Moisturize

During the winter months we tend to need thicker, richer moisturizers to replenish our barrier and keep us extra hydrated. In the warmer months, we naturally sweat more and produce extra oil which means we need to switch to a lighter moisturizer. It’s always important to protect your skin with a moisturizing routine, even in the spring and summer months, as the sun heats the skin which can cause moisture loss. Moisturizers help retain the moisture we need for a healthy skin barrier. Give our NeoCutis BioCream or Epionce Renewal Lotion a try!

Sunscreen

It’s important to wear it year-round but especially in the spring and summer months when we tend to go outside more. When using a sunscreen, be sure to choose a broad spectrum SPF option, which will ensure that you’re protected from both UVA (aging) and UVB (skin cancer) rays. Also, choose a sunscreen that has zinc oxide in it and has an SPF of 30 or more. EltaMD Daily Tinted is a great option!

Laser Hair Removal

Don’t want to shave all spring and summer long? Try laser hair removal! This is a safe and easy way to slow growth and reduce unwanted hair on the legs, underarms, chin, bikini, back or anywhere on the body. The laser targets pigment at the hair follicle and destroys it while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. This procedure may require multiple treatments so go ahead and get that first treatment scheduled!

Get a Facial

Getting a facial is the best way to find out what your skincare regimen should be for the upcoming season — we’ll evaluate your skin and come up with a plan that is right for you, plus get your “skin spring cleaning” taken care of! Cleansing, exfoliating, re-hydrating and lymphatic drainage will certainly get your skin off to a great start for the season.
